A browser is a software application on a computer or mobile device that retrieves information from the internet and presents it on screen in a readable form. When you enter a web address or click a link, the browser contacts a web server then interprets the received code to display text, images or video. It also offers features such as bookmarks to save favourite sites, tabs to keep several pages open at once and a history of visited pages.
